Discussion questions for safety planning at home include the following:

  1. What kind of housing does the survivor live in? Do they live alone or in shared housing? Do they know the people with whom they share their housing?

  2. Does the perpetrator have access to the survivor’s housing?

  3. Is the survivor physically safe in their home? Do their windows and doors lock? Do they have lights outside of their home?

  4. Does the survivor have trusted friends or family nearby with whom they can stay if they need to leave their home? How can the survivor contact them?

  5. Does the survivor feel the need to move to new housing? Is it possible to do so? Do they need assistance with finding new housing?

  6. What could the survivor do to feel safer in their home?
