4.3.4.6 Pubic Hair Combings

At this stage, the survivor will sit on a drape and use a small comb on the pubic area to pick up any debris, fiber, hairs or anything else that could be collected as evidence.

The healthcare provider may do it, or the survivor may prefer to do this step themselves.

The whole drape will then be folded and put into a labeled envelope.

If the survivor chooses to skip this step or if the survivor has no pubic hair, it will be written on the envelope.

For future prosecution, the more detail that can be provided of the survivor’s physical state and of the event, the better.
